Patricia Posey

6607 Coleridge Avenue

In 2005, Patricia moved into the house where she grew up. Her mother had already had a garden there, but Patricia wanted to give it her own touch. She replaced ground covers that had taken over with colorful flowering annuals and perennials and added a retaining wall along the hill to show them off. This year, Patricia thought that her recent hip replacement would prevent her from gardening, but her friends from the gym where she did her rehab pitched in and, in addition to tidying the garden, planted a mass of red petunias along the retaining wall. The result is a striking splash of color and a testament to the importance of friendship.
