Senior Home Safety Session: Sponsored by AARP®

  • Kennedy Heights Arts Center Annex 6620 Montgomery Road Cincinnati, Ohio, 45213 United States (map)

Kennedy Heights Development Corporation is thrilled to announce that we have been selected to receive a 2026 AARP Community Challenge grant. This year, only 750 grantees were chosen from 5,100 applications from across all 50 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

With this quick-action grant, we will be completing home safety assessments for Kennedy Heights residents over 50 years of age and providing simple and affordable AARP HomeFit® modifications to make their homes safer. This project will advance our efforts to make Kennedy Heights a place where people of all ages can thrive.

We'll be hosting an info session to share more about the program. We're meeting in person, and we'll do our best to offer a virtual option for residents who can't join us in the room. This session is for Kennedy Heights residents 50 and older who are interested in a free safety assessment of their home, along with free, simple, affordable modifications to make their home more accessible and safer. These solutions include things like smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, hallway lights, under cabinet lighting, house or mailbox numbers, grab bars, rug tape to keep throw rugs secured to the floor, and more.

This program costs residents nothing, thanks to the generous support of AARP. We see it as a perfect complement to our Kennedy Heights Home Repair Program, and we can't wait to share more details with you.
