Adult Winter Programs at the Pleasant Ridge Library

If you’re looking for ways to stay engaged, creative, and connected this winter, the Pleasant Ridge Library is offering a fantastic lineup of adult winter programs designed to inspire learning, creativity, and community.

Adult Winter Checkout Challenge (January 16 – February 28)

Remember the Pizza Hut reading challenge from childhood? The Pleasant Ridge Library has reimagined that concept just for adults with their Adult Winter Checkout Challenge.

Participants who sign up receive a tote bag just for joining, along with a themed bookmark of their choice. Each bookmark includes five fun and engaging activities. Complete four activities and return your bookmark to be entered to win a cozy blanket.

Completed bookmarks can be returned on or after January 30, 2026, and participants will also receive a collectible Winter Checkout Challenge mug, a perfect incentive to curl up with a good book this season.

Learn & Create: Gratitude Journals

Wednesday, January 28 | 11:00 AM
Looking for something a little more reflective and grounding? Join the library for Learn & Create: Gratitude Journals, a hands-on session exploring the benefits of practicing gratitude. Participants will learn how crafting a journal can help cultivate mindfulness and gratitude in daily life.

Visible Mending Workshop

Tuesday, February 3 | 6:00–7:00 PM
Interested in learning how to repair your own clothing? Don’t miss Visible Mending, lead by an experienced instructor from the Clifton Cultural Arts Center. This workshop focuses on repairing clothing and textiles by highlighting imperfections rather than hiding them, turning wear and tear into a creative statement.

Pleasant Ridge Branch Book Club

Thursday, February 12 | 2:00–3:00 PM
If you’ve been thinking about joining a book club but never quite made the leap, this is your chance. The Pleasant Ridge Branch Book Club meets monthly for lively discussions of both new and classic books. This recurring event takes place on the second Thursday of each month.

To find out the current book selection, call 513-369-4488 (press 2).

Easy Crafts: Natural Photo Frames

Thursday, February 19 | 2:00–3:00 PM
Calling all crafters! Wrap up the winter programming with Easy Crafts: Natural Photo Frames, where participants will learn how to create simple, rustic photo frames using twigs and twine, perfect for gifting or displaying favorite memories.

Whether you’re looking to read more, learn a new skill, or simply connect with neighbors, the Pleasant Ridge Library’s winter programming offers something for everyone. Be sure to check out these events and take advantage of all the resources your local library has to offer this season.
