Kennedy Heights Community Meeting Recap: Montgomery Road Development Update
On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, the Kennedy Heights Community Council (KHCC) and Kennedy Heights Development Corporation (KHDC) hosted a community meeting to share a potential development opportunity for the 1-acre parcel on Montgomery Road that was recently demolished. Representatives from Bethany House Services and Urban Sites presented their initial concept and answered questions from residents.
Urban Sites, a fully integrated real estate company, and Bethany House Services—an organization dedicated to helping homeless and at-risk families achieve housing stability—shared their vision for an affordable housing development designed for families on the 1-acre parcel Montgomery Road (across from the KHAC Mansion). The meeting was well attended both in person and virtually, with strong engagement throughout the presentations and a thoughtful, active Q&A session.
Overall, there was a high level of community interest and support for the proposal, particularly around the need for more affordable housing and the opportunity it could create for individuals and families to remain in or return to Kennedy Heights. Residents also shared important feedback concerns, including the importance of high-quality design that fits the character of the neighborhood, considerations around building scale, traffic and parking impacts, and the desire to incorporate green space, sidewalks, and trees into the site.
If you were unable to attend, you can view both presentations below. We encourage you to share your feedback by completing this survey and to reach out directly to us with any additional questions or thoughts using the form provided.
Thank you to everyone who participated and shared input. We appreciate your engagement and encourage you to stay connected through our website, newsletter, and upcoming meetings as we continue to explore this potential development opportunity.
