Mothering & Mourning: A Powerful Dance Performance Coming to Kennedy Heights

Kennedy Heights continues to be a place where art invites conversation, reflection, and connection. This month, we’re honored to share an opportunity to experience Mothering & Mourning, an original contemporary dance performance that explores caregiving, friendship, illness, loss, and the unexpected beauty woven through life’s most tender moments.

Presented at the KHAC Lindner Annex, this 50-minute performance blends expressive movement with emotional storytelling. Created by Cincinnati-based choreographers Megan Flynn and Teresa VanDenend Sorge, the work unfolds in five distinct sections, each offering a different lens on what it means to nurture, to grieve, and to hold space for one another.

Through experimental choreography and deeply human themes, Mothering & Mourning reflects on experiences many of us share. Caring for loved ones, navigating change, and finding strength in vulnerability. The performance invites audiences to slow down, feel deeply, and witness how art can hold both sorrow and joy at the same time.
